About the author David F. BurgDavid F. Burg is a freelance writer and editor who holds a B.A. in English from DePauw University, an M.A. in English from Washington State University, and an M.A. and Ph.D. in American civilization (American studies) from the University of Pennsylvania. Burg also studied British literature and history for one year at the University of Exeter in England. He is the author or coauthor of seven books, including Encyclopedia of Student and Youth Movements and The Great Depression, Updated Edition and The 1980s, both in the Eyewitness History series, for Facts On File. He has taught at the University of Kentucky and at Transylvania University in Lexington, KY.
